my name is Robert Trujillo. I’m an Illustrator from Oakland California, currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Who am I? I’m an art educator for various non-profit organizations across the Tri-state area. Much of the advice, help, and inspiration I received as an artist was passed down to me by older artists, so I make it my life’s work to not only create art but to show young people how to do it as well. I’m a full time student attending Parsons (New School) in New York and the work you see here is a mixture of published and personal illustrations.
In addition to Illustration I co-founded of a national artist group called "Trust Your Struggle" which creates Murals, facilitates Workshops for youth organizations, and produces gallery installations. This group of muralistas has traveled from California to New York, Mexico, Amsterdam, and Central America creating uplifting artwork incorporating Political events, history, ethnic studies, graffiti, fine art, and illustration. If this interests you, please look us up for details about the current mural tour across the U.S.

Lastly, I manage and collaborate young illustrators and writers of color who create informative and inspirational artwork at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. The purpose of this site is to increase literacy and illustrative abilities of all involved by mixing artists and writers of different styles and experience levels. The best way to see this work is by looking us up at www.myspace.com/comebienbooks or http://comebienbooks.blogspot.com. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or phone.
